Stay Wellbeing & Lifestyle Resort Phuket Review: Is It Worth Staying?
After spending time exploring some of Phuket’s busiest areas, staying at Stay Wellbeing & Lifestyle Resort Phuket felt like hitting the reset button. Tucked away in the quieter area of Rawai, this modern wellness resort offers a completely different side of the island, where tropical gardens, peaceful surroundings, and spacious accommodation take centre stage.
If you’re looking for nightlife on your doorstep, this probably isn’t the right location. However, if your idea of the perfect holiday includes relaxing by the pool, enjoying an incredible gym, and escaping the crowds, this resort is well worth considering.
My One-Bedroom Pool Access Suite
I stayed in a One-Bedroom Suite with Pool Access, and it quickly became one of my favourite hotel rooms from my time in Thailand.
The suite was bright, modern, and incredibly spacious. Having a fully equipped kitchen made a huge difference, especially for storing fruit, drinks, and leftovers after long days exploring Phuket.
Storage was another standout feature. The wardrobes stretched almost from floor to ceiling and included built-in lighting and mirrors, making unpacking effortless. Between the bathroom mirror and the additional full-length mirror in the bedroom, getting ready each morning was easy.
The room stayed wonderfully cool thanks to both excellent air conditioning and a ceiling fan above the bed. I often preferred using the fan overnight, particularly as the room’s poolside location meant mosquitoes became more active after dark. A quick mosquito spray from 7-Eleven solved the problem.
One thing I really appreciated was how peaceful the accommodation was. The rooms are extremely well soundproofed, and throughout my stay I never heard neighbouring guests, making it feel incredibly private and relaxing.

A Few Things That Could Be Better
The television was positioned perfectly for watching from bed, but the channel selection was disappointing. There were very few English-language channels, mainly international news and a handful of foreign programmes, with no movie channels available. For a resort of this standard, this felt like a missed opportunity, particularly as evenings at the hotel are generally very quiet.
The minibar was another disappointment. Nothing was complimentary, and the bottled water appeared to have been refilled, so I chose not to drink it.
Guests should also be aware that the hotel requires a 1,000 baht security deposit per night, which is refunded after your room has been inspected during checkout.
Travel Tip: Ask reception to remove the minibar items when you check in. This gives you plenty of space to stock the fridge with your own drinks and snacks using Grab, which delivers groceries quickly and very affordably.
Facilities
The resort grounds are beautifully maintained, with tropical gardens, palm trees, colourful flowers, and peaceful walkways creating a genuine sense of calm throughout the property.
The biggest surprise was the gym.
It’s spread across several floors, each dedicated to different styles of training, and is easily one of the best hotel gyms I’ve ever used. Alongside modern equipment, guests can book Muay Thai sessions, fitness classes, and personal training at very reasonable prices.
The only aspect that didn’t quite match the relaxed atmosphere was the pool policy. Swimming isn’t permitted after 9pm, the lights are switched off completely, and security actively checks that guests have left the pool. Considering Phuket’s warm evenings, extending pool hours slightly would make the experience even better.
Food & Dining
Although I didn’t try the breakfast or main restaurant, I did visit the Chica Rooftop Lounge for its evening BBQ buffet.
The atmosphere was fantastic, with great music, rooftop views, and a relaxed setting that felt perfect for a holiday evening.
The buffet cost around 1,000 baht per person, including unlimited alcoholic drinks for two hours. Service at the bar could occasionally be slow, but overall the food, atmosphere, and value made it one of my favourite evenings at the resort.
If you’re willing to venture outside the hotel, don’t miss Aagri Tadaka Indian Restaurant. It isn’t a luxury restaurant, but the food was genuinely outstanding and easily one of the best Indian meals I had during my travels. Freshly cooked, full of flavour, and excellent value for money.

Location & Getting Around
Stay Wellbeing & Lifestyle Resort is located in Rawai, one of Phuket’s quieter areas.
It’s an excellent base for relaxing, but not the most convenient location if you’re planning to spend every day sightseeing.
The nearest 7-Eleven is roughly a 20 to 30-minute walk away, although Wiset Road has plenty of fruit stalls, local food vendors, and a Super Cheap supermarket for everyday essentials.
One thing I enjoyed was seeing local street food sellers throughout the day and evening, offering everything from fresh tropical fruit to cakes and traditional Thai snacks.
Most of Phuket’s popular areas, including Phuket Old Town, Kata, Karon, and Patong, are around 40 minutes away depending on traffic, so it’s worth grouping nearby attractions together when planning your itinerary.
There’s a taxi rank directly outside the hotel, but I relied almost entirely on Grab throughout my stay. It consistently offered better prices than local taxis, and after several journeys I even received discount vouchers. I also tried Bolt, but found Grab much more reliable in this part of Phuket.
Massage & Spa
The resort’s spa looks beautiful and offers treatments at reasonable prices.
However, one policy surprised me. Guests aren’t allowed to use the spa facilities unless they book a treatment, which feels like a missed opportunity, especially for those staying several nights.
I also visited a nearby local massage shop, but unfortunately the experience wasn’t great.
Instead, I’d highly recommend Ton Mai Spa Rawai, where I enjoyed one of the best massages of my entire Thailand trip at a very affordable price.
If you’re visiting Kata or Karon Beach during your holiday, you’ll also find plenty of excellent massage shops there.
Tours I Recommend
One of the highlights of staying in Phuket was the number of incredible day trips available.
During my stay I booked five tours through GetYourGuide, and every single one exceeded my expectations.
My favourites included:
- Phi Phi & Bamboo Island Tour
- Phang Nga Bay & James Bond Island Luxury Tour – (Check my experience of the day)
- YONA Floating Beach Club
- Similan Islands Snorkelling Tour
- Muay Thai Boxing at Patong Stadium

Final Verdict
Stay Wellbeing & Lifestyle Resort isn’t the best choice if you want to be surrounded by bars, shopping, and nightlife.
However, if you’re looking for somewhere peaceful to recharge while still being within easy reach of Phuket’s main attractions, it’s an excellent option.
I particularly loved the tropical surroundings, spacious accommodation, and exceptional fitness facilities. While there are a few areas that could be improved—such as the television channels, pool opening hours, and spa access—none of them significantly affected my overall experience.
After spending eight nights here before returning to Bangkok, I’d happily stay again.
Next time, I’d probably choose a standard suite instead of paying extra for the swim-up room, as although it was lovely, I don’t think it’s essential.
Overall, Stay Wellbeing & Lifestyle Resort is a fantastic choice for travellers looking to unwind, enjoy high-quality facilities, and experience a quieter side of Phuket.
